There is just something so special about seeing Gary Barlow solo. I am a Take That obsessive and love all of Take That but Gary just goes that extra mile to connect with his fans. I was lucky enough to see Gary at the Royal Albert Hall last year as the Princes Trust concerts and that was amazing. Then he announced this tour and Sheffield was on there…I just had to get tickets! By some good fortune I managed to get row A tickets (4 rows from the front) and near enough centre stage. I just couldn’t believe it when we took our seats to find we were right in front of Gary’s piano where he spent a lot of time!
The whole night was just absolutely amazing. Gary just as that special something and I love the way he captivates a crowd. I loved ALL of it, there was not one aspect if the night I did not love but these where some of the stand out bits:
* Pray – complete with Garys dancing!
* The tv tunes medley with Peter Kay and garys facial expression (of kinda like ‘wtf?!? I dunno where this is going lol) – the things legends are made of (this also made my hubbys night!)
* Singing ‘Everything Changes’ with Eliot Kennedy – Gary clearly as a lot of love and respect for this guy!
* Garys version of ‘Candy’ right from first hearing this sung by Robbie you could see Garys influence on the song – I loved Garys version!
* ‘Sing’ there is just something about that song I really love
* Garys cheeky jokes and winks – he really does have a wicked sense of humour
* Garys smile – he just seemed so genuinely happy to be on stage doing what he does best
And to top of the night we got the stage set list which I will now frame alongside my ticket for that extra special memento of the night!!!
