A tempting weekend

I always find the weekends the hardest days to follow the diet. At work it’s easily controlled thanks to planning packed lunches in advance. And if for some reason I don’t take a packed lunch the girls working in the canteen don’t allow me to get anything ‘bad’ as there also following slimming world. Therefore the temptations just don’t exist. Evening meals aren’t normally an issue unless for some reason I have to work late. The weekends however are a completely different story!

Friday nights are normally the night I go out and the time that those syns begging racking up. The format of the delicious and enticing liquid in the glasses 😉 that however was not the problem this weekend. Thanks to having to work very early on Saturday morning I decided a quiet night in was the best option.

A success express lunch: Ham salad sandwich, side salad and melon

I tried to stick to plan the best I could on Saturday, which was more difficult than normal due to trying to follow the success express plan as well as working on a Saturday which just completely throws the routine out! I managed ok most of the morning by having an hifi lite bar and 2 bananas for breakfast, mid morning snacks were 4 satsumas and a hifi lite bar. As I was only working half of the day I made myself a ham salad sandwich with a large side salad (mixed lettuce, cucumber, 2 eggs and sliced up babybel cheeses with extra light mayo) as well as a 1/4 honeydew melon.

Then the temptation began! An evening at a friends house! Alcohol, pizza, crisps, cake! You name it, it was there to tempt me! I mostly managed to resist, although I did pick on the nibbles and have a mini onion bahaji. Fortunately I was driving which gave me another excuse to resist the alcohol – don’t think I would have had the will power if I had not been driving! Then came the ultimate temptation….ordering takeaway. This evenings choice of takeWay was pizza. I somehow managed to resist and ordered a chicken shish kebab. I ate the meat and Salad (around 4 syns) and ditched the pitta. Not too bad of a choice but it certainly wasn’t a success express meal of two thirds super free (was ice though 🙂 ).

Sunday was another difficult day. And another busy day. As i knew this in advance i decided to have an extra easy day today. It was an early start again as I was off to work at my voluntary job which began by a stop at mcdonalds to meet up with others. I ordered a cuppa, although did end up steal a bite of someones hash brown. Brekkie today was hifi lite bars (again!), bananas and satsumas. Thanks to been extremely tierd I managed to drink my way through lots if cuppas and cans of red bull (sugar free of course). Lunch was pasta, lettuce, ham mixed with sweet chilli sauce (2 syns). By the time I got back I just wanted to veg out on the sofa…cue ordering takeaway (2nd of the week…eek). This time it was Chinese, boiled rice with chicken in oyster soy sauce (about 6 syns) yummy!

Considering all of the rubbish I could have eaten this weekend it wasn’t too bad but defiantly lacked super free. Must get back on it Monday. Weigh in day (Wednesday) is fast approaching. I made the mistake of getting weighed on my scales at home earlier. Big mistake as was quite dishearting (1/2lb gain!?!) but have picked myself up and supercharging that will power. I want a decent loss this weekend!
